Viewpoints Technique for the Bold Actor

Want to have fun on a winter afternoon? Want to learn how to improve your acting skills -- without having to memorize any lines? Then Ann Arbor Civic Theatre’s workshop on Viewpoints is the answer for you.

Viewpoints is an improvisational system that trains an actor to use their body in time and space to create meaning. This technique provides a shared language for ensembles and frees the actor to make bold choices on the stage.

The original Six Viewpoints were discovered by deconstructing postmodern theatre practitioner Mary Overlie and then further articulated by theatre directors Anne Bogart and Tina Landau to devise and stage theatre. Ann Arbor’s own Kat Walsh will adapt the curriculum to the familiarity and skill level of those registered.

Please arrive promptly, and dress for a full range of movement. This class requires a minimum of ten students and can accommodate up to twenty.

Date: February 8th at 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Cost: Cost: $40 for members of A2CT, $50 for non-members
