Young performers of all skill levels are welcome for this jazz-based theatrical dance class! Focusing on musicality and showmanship, this class will strengthen fundamentals of musical theatre dance, combination and choreography retention, and performance and energy through physical movement- all while dancing to iconic show tunes of the past and the present. Over the sessions, the students will learn one group dance to Broadway song of their choice to be performed at a showcase for family and friends during the last week of class.

About the instructor:   Lily Gechter is a performer and choreographer with extensive experience with younger performers, and is ecstatic to have the opportunity to continue to spread her love of dance. Her choreographic goals with every project include technical improvement and physical well-being. Lily has recently served as choreographer for The Spongebob Musical (Horizon Performing Arts); 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Greenhills Upper School); and A2CT's Godspell (shut-down due to COVID-19). Recent onstage credits include The Prom, Mary Poppins (Croswell Opera House); and Seussical the Musical (Horizon Performing Arts).
