Create a Play (Ages 5-7)

w/Alex Moore

January 9-March 5

Tuesdays from 4:45 to 5:45pm

$180

This class will use student input and ideas that come out of exercises, games, and students’ imaginations to help create a short play. Each class will consist of some theater games to loosen up and practice performing skills, as well as working on the creation of our performance.  The last class will be a performance for parents and guests.

About the instructor:  Alex began acting at a professional repertory theater in Los Angeles at age 12.  By age 15, she was teaching acting, improvisation, dance, and theater games to the younger acting students, and by age 18, she was directing the plays for the youth summer camp program.  During this time, she also performed in many professional productions. After completing a degree in American Studies, she joined the theater full-time as a member of the repertory company and had the opportunity to perform regularly, tour abroad, and teach acting classes for kids, including drama outreach programs in the public schools. She currently is a substitute teacher at Emerson School and directs plays and musicals for Chelsea Area Players Youth Theater.
