Young Actors Camp

Students in this week-long camp will be immersed in theater all day long! Budding young actors will be introduced to the skills needed when on stage, including speaking loudly and clearly, showing confidence and developing stage presence, and using your face and body to create expressive characters. Every day will consist of at least a few hours of working on a short performance that will be presented at the end of the week for families. There will also be time during the day to have fun with comedy improvisation, theater games, body movement, and more! There will be a 10-minute snack break and a half-hour lunch break. Please provide these meals/snacks for your child. A performance showcase will be presented at 3 pm on the last day of class.

Ages: 7-11 (July 8-12)

Time: 9am to 3pm daily, M – F

Cost of the class: $255

Tweens and Teens Acting Camp

Tweens and teens can hone their acting skills and have fun in this acting camp! Every day will consist of at least a few hours of working on a performance that will be presented at the end of the week for families. While rehearsing, the actors will work on performance skills such as diction, projection, facial expressions, body psychology, and stage presence, while also getting specific feedback about how to become a better performer. In addition, there will be time during the day to do some fun, acting-related games and skills work, such as: comedy improvisation, theater games, body movement, accent work, scene study, and improvisation for acting. There will be a 10-minute snack break and a half-hour lunch break. Please provide these meals/snacks for your child. A performance showcase will be presented at 3 pm on the last day of class.

About Alex Moore:

Starting in professional repertory theater in Los Angeles at age 12, Alex Moore has both acted and taught acting, improvisation, dance, and theater games and directed plays for youth most of her life. After completing a degree in American Studies, she joined as a full-time member of a repertory company, toured abroad, and taught acting classes for kids, including drama outreach programs in the public schools. She eventually earned her teaching certification in English and a Master’s degree in Education and taught middle school for several years before teaching classes for homeschooled students (mostly drama-based classes). She currently is a substitute teacher at Emerson School and directs plays and musicals for Chelsea Area Players Youth Theater.
